Welcome Back Author Terri Rochenski!

I can't wait to welcome back Terri Rochenski and help give a shout out for her new book LOVE'S SORROW!

Thanks for coming back to visit Terri! How about we get to know you a littler better with my famous author get-to-know-you questions!

What is your favorite flower?

Hyacinth. The scene is so spring to me. I’m dying for a few in the house right now, that’s for sure!

What word in the English language do you wish you had invented?

Yes. It’s such a great word—holds promise. Brings smiles, well for the most part I hope. I love its honesty.

Where would you like to live?

If I had a few million to spare? Hmmm. I guess I’d take a vacation house in Tuscany. Alaska, too.

What is the first quote that comes to your mind?

“My name’s Sean, Jem. I’m Sean.”
Only because I just completed a Top Tens list of my favorite romance moments in books. This quote is from J.A. Belfield’s Darkness & Light.

What do you miss about your childhood?

Innocence. The not knowing about the world’s corruption and the lies adults tell.

If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

I’m named after my father, and would never want to change it!

What is the main fault in your character?

Anne is a determined woman, stubborn enough to stay in a place she shouldn’t.

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Laura Ingles Wilder. As a child, I adored her and her books. I always thought I’d been born in the wrong era because I should have headed west in a covered wagon.

What in the world do you least desire?

To be surrounded by snakes or grizzly bears. I have nightmares about both happening, and I wake sweaty and pulse thrumming every time.

Finish this sentence: “Happiness is a thing called…”

My four loves. The hubs, Sister, Pips, and Little Man.

Aww, I love Laura Ingles Wilder. Almanzo was a great romantic hero back in the day...don't you think? Thanks for letting us get to know you - now tell us more about the new book!

Love’s Sorrow (Means of Mercy #1) releases TODAY - April 21st! It's a sweet, historical Romance...

Terri started writing stories in the 8th grade, when a little gnome whispered in her brain. Gundi’s Great Adventure never hit the best seller list, but it started a long love affair with storytelling.
Today she enjoys an escape to Middle Earth during the rare ‘me’ moments her three young children allow. When not playing toys, picking them back up, or kissing boo-boos, she can be found sprawled on the couch with a book or pencil in hand, and toothpicks propping her eyelids open.

Life is stranger than Fiction: Angels Caught on Camera

By Anne Hope

In this technological era, where street cams are perched at practically every corner, where cars sometimes come equipped with dashboard cameras and where every person with a cell phone can snap a picture or take a video at a moment’s notice, there’s nothing that can’t be captured on film, including angels!
If I were an angelic being determined to remain unnoticed, I’d be pretty bummed right now. Thankfully, I’m an author who spends her days writing about angels, so this actually works in my favor. All of a sudden, I have hours of spectacular footage waiting to be discovered online.

Today, I’m going to share a few of these fantastical stories with you.

The first is an image of an angel-like creature filmed by a security camera in Indonesia. On September 11, 2011, a humanoid with wings allegedly descended from the sky and rested on the ground, its body pulsing with a strange white glow. Seconds later, it soared toward the heavens again and disappeared. The YouTube video has had over a million views to date, with people debating over whether the footage is real or a hoax. Watch and decide for yourself.

If you think that’s shocking, watch this video of a guardian angel saving a man from a car crash:

When I saw this footage, my first thought was, this could be one of the characters in my Dark Souls series. I can’t say for sure if this video is real or if some whiz kid is having a good laugh at our expense, but it’s enough to give wings to my already overactive imagination!

But most inspiring of all is the heartwarming tale of a disabled fourteen-year-old girl who was dying of pneumonia in a hospital in Charlotte, NC. The girl had been in the hospital for a month, and the prognosis was grim. Having run out of hope and unwilling to see her child suffer any more pain, the mom agreed to take her daughter off life support.

The nurse had just removed the girl’s oxygen mask and returned to her desk, when she saw something strange on the surveillance monitor. It looked like a man standing beyond the doors of the ICU. The nurse left her station and went to investigate, but when she opened the doors, no one was there. She returned to the nurse’s station, only to see the figure on the monitor yet again. She and another nurse stared at the figure in awe, slowly realizing the man had wings.

Then, a miracle happened. The girl recovered just in time to celebrate her fifteenth birthday on Christmas day! If you want to know more, NBC covers this amazing story:

Why do I write paranormal fiction? Because for a few hours a day, I can leave the boring and the mundane behind and bask in the phenomenal. In those few hours, I learn to believe in miracles, and my hope is restored. There is something infinitely alluring about the strange and unexplained. It makes us question the things we think we know and forces us to open our minds to things we never considered.

I like to believe there is magic in the world around us, even if we can’t see it, and I try to capture that magic in the books I write. I take these stories, these ideas that sometimes elicit a smirk or an eye-roll, and weave them together to create a new reality. One where anything is possible.

That was an amazing guest post and I feel honored to have hosted it. Thanks Anne, now please! tell us more about your Dark Souls series:

Lia has always been ruled by reason, refusing to put stock in such nebulous things as destiny. Until Jace dies in her arms, then miraculously comes back to life. Whenever he’s near, her soul responds and her body burns. And she’s consumed by odd dreams she’s convinced are Jace’s lost memories.

When Lia is kidnapped, Jace tracks her and discovers a shocking explanation for who—and what—he is. Something no longer human, a dark legacy that until now has lain dormant within him. Something that could destroy the one woman he’d sacrifice everything to protect.

His partner, Regan, is his exact opposite, an enigma he longs to solve. A free spirit and reckless to a fault, Regan acts first and thinks later. Her smart mouth and tender heart have fascinated Marcus for decades, but the Watchers’ strict vow of celibacy has forced him to ignore the sizzling attraction between them. Until now. Much as her body wants to succumb to Adrian’s seductive charms, she can’t. Not without breaking his newly awakened heart.

Adrian swears to protect Angie from his kind, even if staying by her side means volunteering at the center where she works to reform the very souls he has vowed to crush.
