@OkatieO does it AGAIN with her new book CRAZY ABOUT YOU

Ah, another fun romance to heat up those cold, winter nights that are almost upon us...

Here is my review of
by the incredible Katie O'Sullivan:

(PS - this book is only
99 cents - GRAB IT TODAY!!!)

Katie O'Sullivan does it again with another solid romance with enough action, twists, and turns to keep the pages turning! I love how she weaves the landscape of Cape Cod into her stories so much so that they are often like a character. Chase and Emma were one steamy duo that the reader can't help but root for! I loved the mob action and the murder mystery intertwined in this romance - download it today, grab a hot drink, cuddle up and let Katie take you to Cape Cod in the summer no matter where you live!

Climate scientist Chase Anderson races from one project to the next, unwilling to slow down in his quest to save the world’s oceans. He has no time for family or relationships until he crashes into an impetuous blonde with a quirky sense of humor. One sizzling kiss makes him seriously reevaluate his priorities. And his sanity.

Emma Maguire left her small Cape Cod hometown years ago, seeking the fast pace and anonymity of New York City. She’s not sure what she’s searching for, but when a family crisis brings her home to Provincetown she’s caught in a crazy tangle of half-truths and mistaken identity… and falls for the handsome stranger who broke her cell phone.

Will untangling the web of lies drive them crazy, or lead to something even crazier – like love?

Ms. O'Sullivan is one of my favorite romance authors out there - and this book is a winner - here's the link to Amazon Author Page, where you can check out all her books and follow her (yes, a little like a stalker...haha!)

All thanks to WILD ROSE PRESS!!!

So I really have the coolest publishers ever. I love both The Wild Rose Press for my adult books and Ravenswood for my middle grade books. As a now multi-published author (that sounds cool to say!) - I have made a lot of great friends online. The support is amazing!

But once in a while, something magic happens. I met Ashantay Peters in the chat rooms that Wild Rose Press has and she responded to me on 9/11/13 that she would be happy to read my first novel so I had a REAL author reviewing it.

Bang - I had this connection with her. Were we hippies together in another life? Who knows!

Over the years, we've read and reviewed each others work and then she said, "Hey, I'm coming to Wisconsin to see my Mom. Want to meet up and have lunch?"

And it worked out! I was on a road trip in our RV we've nicknamed Velma (a.k.a. the Scooby-Doo mobile) with our kids on our way to our cabin in the UP of Michigan. Isn't Velma cute? We paid $4000 for her (a 1987 Dodge) and she had 36,000 miles on her - what a deal!

Anyway, our route to the UP led right past where Ashantay was going to be in northern Wisconsin. We met at a local diner and what fun! We shared old Milwaukee stories (we both grew up there) and she got to meet three of my four kids.

So a HUGE shout out to Wild Rose Press - without whom, this never would have happened!

Today I'm reviewing Ashantay's book PIPE DREAMS:

Sensual, Supernatural, and Sensational!

Another winner from the talented Ashantay Peters - wow, as another reviewer said, her books are like spending time with good friends. This is a book where you are sucked so deep into the characters world, that you are actually walking next to them throughout the story. I love the author's language and tactile impressions of the world she's created. The coffee shop, the home that the protagonist is working on, and the next door neighbor's store become instantly familiar. The bond and depth of emotion between the love interests makes you fight for them at every turn. I love the paranormal and metaphysical aspects of this book. There is a beautiful correlation between the renovation and ghostly cleansing of an old house and parallels to the main characters working on clearing out their old ghosts and renovating their own life. A wonderful read and yes, I cried at the end - so good!

Here is the blurb:

Abigail Stephens left her past behind or did she? When she moved to Blue Peak, she expected to find sanctuary and a new start. Instead, her new home includes a hippie, a ghost with a mission, and a sexy coffee house owner who undermines her plans.

Carlos Young quit teaching when his fiancĂ©e left him for another professor. He’s avoided dating, but his mother’s demand for grandchildren is unceasing and more attractive once he meets Abby.

She resists his overtures...for now. Can an intrusive mother, a reticent ghost, and a run-down house bring Abby and Carlos together or will they continue to live pipe dreams?

Review of Angel Dreams by Jody Kessler and GET-TO-KNOW-YOU

 Hello all!

I finished reading Angel Dreams on vacation last week...absolutely lovely...here is my review:

I jumped right into this book without having read book one (which I'm DEFINITELY going to do) - I spent a week on my first vacation of the summer being swept away with Nathaniel and Jules. They were both incredibly well-written and strong characters with so many obstacles in their way, it's a small miracle every time they are together! The first 1-2 chapters were an ethereal world of love and then BAM - the author hits you with a dramatic scene that kept me picking up this book every day until the end. I will read more from this author!

Now let's get to know Jody:

Thanks for blogging with me on Quill or Pill.

1. How would your mother describe you in one word?
2. What is your favorite flower?
Calla lilies - particularly the wine or purple colored varieties.
3. What is the most insane question you’ve ever been asked?
Who is your favorite author? – Is it possible to have only one?!
4. What word in the English language do you wish you had invented?
5. Where would you like to live?
I love where I live now. Colorado has been my home for most of my life. I’ve lived in the Midwest and in California as well, but I feel comfortable in the mountains. I also dream about living in Europe, Montana, Idaho, and the Northwest coast. I’ve traveled quite a bit and I could really see myself living in the UK. Staying open to new adventures and experiencing new places is important to me, but I would definitely not want to live on the road – like in an RV. I need a real house on a piece of land.
6. What is the first quote that comes to your mind?
“How doth the little crocodile, Improve his shining tail
And pour the waters of the Nile, On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin, How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in, With gently smiling jaws!”
~Lewis Carroll
I hoard quotes from Alice in Wonderland like others hoard chocolate. I actually love quotes and read them often.
7. What animal best describes the kind of boy you’d be interested in?
Wolf.  I pick wolf because I appreciate intelligence, leadership, and a good sense of family values (pack instincts). Wolf people make excellent teachers and often have strong personalities. This just about sums up my hubby, who coincidentally has Wolf as part of his tribal name - he’s a registered Shawnee Native American. As a side note, I don’t call him by his tribal name because I’m not Shawnee. I call him John as do 99.9% of the people we know.
8. What do you miss about your childhood?
Ice cream trucks, roller skating down the sidewalk, and playing at the pool all summer. — It must be January outside. The only memories coming to my mind right now have to do with sun and playing outside.

9. What is the main fault in your character?
This question is sort of in the same category as “Who is your favorite author?” Do I really have only ONE main fault? But, since you asked for one, then I’ll say that I am intolerant toward the faults of society and I handle it by rebelling or turning a blind eye — most of the time. I like to hide out at home in the mountains and ignore the people and problems of the world. I know this doesn’t help anything, but I do it to maintain my own mental and emotional well-being. (However — I do vote and I do pay attention when I have to.)

10. Describe how you kiss in one word.
I should probably say passionate, but it’s more like sweet.

11. What in the world do you least desire?
Competition. I am the least competitive person you’ll ever meet. Honestly, I want everyone to do well. I don’t enjoy most competitive sports, and being around extremely competitive people makes me uncomfortable. I’ve always been this way for as long as I can remember.
12. Why do you think most boys date you?
I guess I’m just totally irresistible.*cough* I’m totally kidding. I haven’t dated in so long that I really don’t remember. I would hope that a potential date would find me interesting and fun to be around.
13.  Finish this sentence: “Happiness is a thing called…”
Where there is peace, there is happiness. Let life flow where it wants to. Swim with the current, not against it, and see where it leads. I bet it will take you somewhere amazing.

Thanks Jody - let's hear more about the book!

Supernatural boundaries will be crossed as Angel of Death, Nathaniel Evans, risks his eternal soul to save the one he loves, the paranormally gifted and nature-loving, Juliana Crowson. While working with a new client, Nathaniel finds out that pissing off a demon-wielding warlock in order to help a suicidal teen with misplaced sexual tendencies may be the last thing he ever does as an angel. Unable to stand aside, Juliana’s involvement in Nathaniel’s new case quickly develops into a misadventure with gun-toting bikers, table dancing, and a shamanic exorcism performed by her temperamental Native American friend, Chris Abeyta. Can Nathaniel and Juliana’s love endure blood-letting rituals in the forest while helping a terrified teen find the will to live, or will fate and the rules of the afterlife tear them eternally apart? Read an Excerpt from the Novel

“Are you sure I shouldn’t be worried about something?” she asks again, her green eyes penetrating my soul, looking for some clue. I sigh heavily.

“Only death, Mom. It comes around for everyone, you know.”

“Not funny, Jules.” She scowls at my bad joke. “I’m going upstairs. Nice to meet you, Nathaniel.”

I wish I was being funny. I walk into the kitchen, not really caring if Nathaniel follows or not. Mine and Jared’s survival seem like the only important thing in the world at the moment. As soon as I hear Mom’s bedroom door close, Nathaniel steps up close.

So close we are almost touching.

He whispers, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry about Travis, and for causing you any pain. You’ve done everything. You saved Corrine, Juliana, and I wouldn’t be back to normal — if you call this normal — without you. You’re amazing. I don’t deserve to be here with you. And you still let me in.”

His face is a mask of torture and I want to erase all the terrible things we have been through, but I can’t. All I can do is stand here, surrounded by his warmth, his smell, and his caressing voice. It’s the most comfortable place I’ve ever known, and the most agonizing. I have to work at forming any words at all. “I had to do something. If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have been killed in the first place.”

“I don’t want to start arguing again, Juliana. I shouldn’t even be here now. You should run away from me.”

About the Author When Jody isn’t navigating the terrain of her imagination and writing it down, she can be found exploring the wilderness of Colorado with her family, or in the kitchen baking 032cookies & brownies - and then trying not to eat them all. She’s passionate about continuing to learn and reads anything and everything that catches her interest. Jody is a full time mom, a Reiki Master, and has taught Hatha yoga for over a decade. Jody’s debut novel, Death Lies Between Us, is the winner of RomCon’s Readers’ Crown award for best Paranormal Romance in 2014. She is currently working on a historical time travel series set in Montana in the 1860’s. The first book in the series, The Night Medicine, will be published in March 2015.

Consume and write me a note of thanks - this book was A-MA-ZING!

Here is my 5 star review:

Exquisitely crafted and flawlessly rendered...this is nothing short of a masterpiece of modern fiction. If you have not read this book, buy it and begin to read. You know how we all want to be drawn into another world? To be swept away with a masterfully created story?

This is that book. This is a book that will become an instant classic in your mind and library. I have recommended it to everyone I know, professionally and socially.

The interwoven tale blends classical music, an autistic child that no one can reach, a murder mystery, and misunderstood psychic. I refuse to say much more as the book is meant to be savored like a fine wine. I actually slowed down in reading it, knowing the sadness my heart would feel when there were no more pages to read.

Thank you Dr. Kennedy for the best book I've read in years, one that can be held up to all the old classics and proudly displayed as their equal.

Psychic Mira Tejedor possesses unique talents that enable her to find anything and anyone, but now she must find a comatose boy wandering lost inside the labyrinth of his own mind. Thirteen-year-old Anthony Faircloth hasn’t spoken a word in almost a month and with each passing day, his near catatonic state worsens. No doctor, test, or scan can tell Anthony’s distraught mother what has happened to her already troubled son. In desperation, she turns to Mira for answers, hoping her unique abilities might succeed where science has failed.

At their first encounter, Mira is pulled into Anthony’s mind and finds the child’s psyche shattered into the various movements of Modest Mussorgsky’s classical music suite, Pictures at an Exhibition. As she navigates this magical dreamscape drawn from Anthony’s twin loves of Russian composers and classical mythology, Mira must contend with gnomes, troubadours, and witches in her search for the truth behind Anthony’s mysterious malady.

The real world, however, holds its own dangers. The onset of Anthony’s condition coincides with the disappearance of his older brother’s girlfriend, a missing persons case that threatens to tear the city apart. Mira discovers that in order to save Anthony, she will have to catch a murderer who will stop at nothing to keep the secrets contained in Anthony’s unique mind from ever seeing the light.
